Miss Teen BVI 2025 was crowned, but with only two contestants the event felt more ceremonial than competitive. This isn’t an isolated case. We’re seeing multiple pageants with minimal participation, each diluting the prestige of the crown.
If organizers can’t secure at least five contestants, it’s time to rethink the format. Merge events. Pool talent. Restore the dignity of the sash. Because when the outcome feels predetermined, the crown loses its meaning and the community loses interest. Pageantry should inspire, not merely proceed. Let’s raise the bar, not just the curtain.
If the sash is stitched before the stage is set, don’t call it a pageant, call it a handover.
