Man who escaped EE police station fined $1K

In November 11, 2011 Lettsome ran out of the East End Police Station.
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – A young man, who escaped from the East End Police Station in November 2011, was fined $1,000 when he appeared before Magistrate Tamia Richards this morning, May 11, 2012.

Kemo Lettsome looked relieved when the Magistrate informed him that she did not think he deserved to go to prison. He has until July 11, 2012 to pay the fine, if not two months at Her Majesty's Prison.

According to court records, Lettsome, a Long Look resident, was arrested by officers on November 30, 2011 on suspicion of burglary. After he was processed and taken to a holding cell, Lettsome reportedly ran pass the officer, out of the station and into some bushes nearby.

Luckily, the same day he was turned in to the East End Police Station by his father.

In court, he had pleaded guilty on April 23, 2012 to escaping police custody.
