Man ‘cops’ to cannabis find, but pleads not guilty of intent to supply
Kasim Benti also pleaded guilty to driving without a driver license; driving an unlicensed vehicle; driving a vehicle when not secured by a seatbelt and driving a vehicle when not covered by a policy of insurance in respect of third party risk.
However, he pleaded not guilty to being in possession of cannabis with the intent to supply.
According to court records, Benti was caught by Police on May 5, 2012 when he was in the Major Bay area. Some 103.4 grammes of the illegal substance were confiscated by officers.
During his court appearance, Benti told the court he would not require the services of an attorney. To this end, Magistrate Richards offered him $30,000 bail and he has to return to court on May 24, 2012.
Additionally, Crown Counsel Herbert Potter notified the court that the substance is yet to be tested.
