Man comes face to face with burglar in home @ Carrot Bay
According to reports reaching our news centre, it was just past mid-morning when the man entered the home and caught the burglar in the act.
The burglar, who was reportedly wearing a ski mask and gloves, exited through a window that entry was gained from. The burglar had removed window louvres to gain access to the residence.
There were no reports of anything missing; however, the home was ransacked.
Licence plate for getaway car given to police
Our newsroom was told that the burglar then made his escape in a car. The description of the car, including a licence plate, was reportedly provided to police; however, it is unclear if any arrests have been made a week later.
Police have confirmed reports of the incident.
“Police responded to a report of a break-in in the Carrot Bay area on October 17, 2023, after 11:00 AM. Preliminary investigations indicate that the intruder was confronted by the occupants of the residence, and fled. Investigations are ongoing in this matter, and further details will be disclosed as warranted,” Police media liaison Akia L. Thomas told our news centre.
It was sometime between Thursday, October 19, and Friday, October 20, 2023, that burglars entered the Sweet Redemptive SDA Church in Slaney and reportedly made off with a number of audio and video equipment.
The RVIPF has already alerted the public of an increase in burglary, particularly on Tortola.

LOL @ Scooter rider. Excellent point. My point though is that legal guns for certain businesses would fix that. Taxi driver has cash, gas station has cash, farmers, fishers, retail people all who deal with mainly cash transactions should be able to have a legally registered and tracked gun with 1 round of ammo provided by the police. That way any crime happens they can track the bullets to the gun and see if it was a registered gun and then find the owner. Also the gun owner now has a deterrent from would be criminals that would have the advantage of having an illegal firearm to use against them. I think it will help both police and business professional. Of course a clean criminal record would be needed and only a certain calibre of firearm provided with training of course. One another note, he knows the thief and the thief will be right there in carrotbay sitting down today, he should hit a homerun across his head for F#$%ing around.
But in these Vi his identity is
protected and shielded which is par for the course in the law enforcement and narcotics enterprise.
He had no call in the man’s house.
A Liar and a Thief are the two (2) worst persons on earth.
He’s not gonna stop thieving and he may not be as lucky again.
I pray the vehicle plate number identify him and he’s prosecuted.
I agree... except if you miss your shot, or your facing Jason The Killer you will want a gun fully equipped with ammo.
Welp guess its time government start handing out crossbows? Surely we cant just to roll over and be helpless?
