Man arrested for drunk driving, unlicensed & operating uninsured vehicle- Police

- Darrel Thomas also allegedly failed to stop @ accident scene & used indecent language
According to the Arrest Blotter of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force released on January 30, 2023, Police on January 1, 2023, arrested and charged Darrel Thomas for the offences of Drunk while in charge of a Vehicle, Failing to Stop at the Scene of an Accident, Driving without a Driver's License, Indecent Language and Using a Motor Vehicle When Not Covered by a Policy of Insurance. ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Darrell Thomas, 39, of Major Bay has found himself afoul of the law for alleged drunk driving and several other offenses.

According to the Arrest Blotter of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force released on January 30, 2023, Police on January 1, 2023, arrested and charged Thomas for the offences of Drunk while in charge of a Vehicle, Failing to Stop at the Scene of an Accident, Driving without a Driver's License, Indecent Language and Using a Motor Vehicle When Not Covered by a Policy of Insurance.

Police said Thomas was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 and is to appear before the Magistrate's Court on February 10, 2023.

ASSAULT CAUSING ACTUAL BODILY HARM

On 04-01-23 at 1345hrs, Police arrested and charged Shakeme Hackshaw, 27, of The Settlement Anegada for the offence of Assault Causing Actual Bodily Harm. He was granted in the sum of $5,000 with one sign surety to appear before Magistrate's Court on 20-02-2023.

WOUNDING

On 11-01-23 at 0935hrs, Police arrested and charged Shakoi White of Anegada for Wounding and Armed with an Offensive Weapon. He was granted bailed in the sum of $5,000 with one surety to appear before Magistrate's Court on 20-02-2023.

INFLICTING GREVIOUS BODILY HARM

On 06-01-23, Police arrested and charged Marshall Senhouse, 27, of Brandywine Bay for Inflicting Grievous Bodily Harm and Armed with an Offensive Weapon. He appeared before Magistrate’s Court and was remanded.

RECKLESS DRIVING

On 18-01-23 at 1325hrs, Police arrested and charged Germaine Stevens, 48, of Parham Town for Reckless Driving. He was granted bailed in the sum of $500 to appear before Magistrate’s Court on 03-03-2023.

RAPE

On 20-01-23, Police arrested and charged Gabriel “Junior” James, 44, of Purcell Estate with four counts of Rape, one count of Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm and one count of Threats to Kill. He appeared before the Magistrate’s Court and granted bail in the sum of $80,000 for his later appearance.

    So many vehicles are unlicensed and uninsured, yet they are driving and speeding like bats out of hell! They have no fear of getting caught either. With bail at $5000, they can afford to get a license and insurance for much less. They are just stupid!

      Right! That means it’s a big lie. Police need to do proper checks when they are charging people.
