Make strips clubs legal & tax them accordingly- Skelton-Cline

- said it is no secret strip clubs exist in the VI & are not being closed by police or courts
To illustrate his point of legalising strip clubs, Claude O. Skelton-cline said exotic dancers who come to the territory would no longer have to do so under the guise of bartenders, rather, would come to the VI under their correct profession. Photo: Internet Source

BAUGHERS BAY, Tortola, VI– Talk show host and local clergyman Claude O. Skelton-Cline has called on the Government of the Virgin Islands to legalise local underground strip clubs in the territory so the government can begin taxing those businesses.

Skelton-Cline made the call on the Tuesday, September 21, 2021, edition of his ZBVI 780 AM 'Honestly Speaking' talk show.

‘Entertainment spot’ a pseudonym for strip clubs - Skelton-Cline

Following the recent re-opening of bars and entertainment spots, the 'man of the cloth' said he believes ‘entertainment spot’ is being used as a pseudonym for strip clubs; however, the government is not willing to target the issue directly.

“Since strip clubs exist in the country, we need to make strip clubs legal,” he said.

“I don't know how the government on the face can engage strip clubs, continue to hide behind the banana tree [and] use these pseudonyms to speak of these matters?

“You got to make the things legal," he said.

Once legal, the pastor said the clubs would be qualified to pay taxes on revenues, “make them legal and then tax them accordingly.”

Work permits for exotic dancers

To further illustrate his point, Skelton-cline said dancers who come to the territory would no longer have to do so under the guise of bartenders but would come to the VI under their correct profession.

“So, the workers who are coming in, need a permit that says exotic dancers, not you keep complaining that we are letting in 10 people in for bartender.”

According to Skelton-Cline, local strip clubs having had a presence in the VI are neither being subjected to closures from the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) nor the local courts.

So... Let me see if I got this straight...

    1. A clergyman is advocating for the legalisation of strip clubs.
    2. He has openly admitted to knowing the ruse used to get exotic dancers into the territory.
    3. He thinks that because they are here and operating (illegally) that this is justification to make them legal.

Can I get an Amen? But wait... the drug dealers are here and operating, the gambling clubs are here and operating, the illegal guns are here too. Why don't we also make them legal?

Why are so many of us surprised about Pastor CSC latest words, in reference to the Jezebel's strip tease dancers. Yes he is a true Pastor, but not one anointed by God's Holy Spirit, but a pastor anointed by Satan.
The VIP government cabinet that employed Hin as a consultant is equally to be blamed, same for the crooked church members that allow him to preach to them about righteousness.
Say it isn't so, Pastor Claude Skelton Cline, but is it?
Many of us have heard this saying before: "The habouror is just as guilty as the thief or thieves.
The Watchman or men that inform the thieves that the RVIPF is fastly approaching is a member of the robber's group.
We, the wise citizens of this country, are fed up with these mediocre, micromanaging, tactic by this VIP government. In my honest opinion, the present government cabinet has fallen short of good governance, just like the NDP government of 2003-2007, 2011-2019 was. We cannot afford another four years of mismanaging our meager financial wellbeing in the care of these propagandaist any longer. Can you? Should you? No, if you are able to see the danger that approaching we wouldn't.

    My personal suggestion to us:
If the UK doesn't take the country over for a time, two years or there about, we will need to a eleck into office a new government cabinet, in exclusion of the current Administration as it is structured. Also, we cannot afford to put the opposition, as it is now structured to lead our affairs.
Some past leaders that has knowledge and experience should be forgiven and allowed to serve us going forward. We cannot afford to accept a cabinet of youths that have no experience of how a government should be run. Neither should we accept a female-pack administration of want-to-be talkers.
Last, but not least, I causion you to pick a leader from among your brethren, whether he be black in skin colour, brown or white.

You sir, are a disgrace to the words "preacher", "clergyman", and "Christian"

Yes, evil has existed here for years. Yes, we have turned a blind eye to it (even the former COP claimed he didn't know anything about them although one is located a few hundred feet from the EE Police Station). Yes, a broad cross section of society (including some who claim the name of Christ, but don't do His works) frequent these places. Yes, in some cases these illegal and immoral activities are protected by powers in high places and therefore are "untouchable".

But, for the love of God... legalise evil because it exists?

This from a man who claims to be a spiritual leader, teaching others from the very Bible which condemns such things? In a self-professed "Christian society" that is in the midst of a Week of Prayer?

    Let the WORD speak...

"Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!"
    - Isaiah 5:20

"Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them"
    - Acts 20:28 - 30

"Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them."
    - Matthew 7:15 - 20

"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables."
    - 2 Timothy 4:3-4

"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth."
    - 2 Timothy 3:1-7

"Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God."
    - Galatians 5:19 -21

"Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge."
    - Hebrews 13:4

Well, Well, Well. Look at this. I am at lost of words for this. This preacher cannot be serious. Is he advocating for sin to be legalize? No Claude you know better. I know sometime you may get caught up in your feeling but this one take the cake. How can you as a believer in God advocate for such nonsense. You should now better. The country just came off a week of repentance and this is the only thing you can come up with. I know God did not say this to you. Are you aware of the self inflicted wounds you just put on the religious community. The community already have issues the have to constantly be defending and you just pour more on it.
As believers it is our duty to uphold what is right and just in the sight on God. What you just said does the opposite. Legalizing this will further destroy families and then the country. I know for a fact many supporters of this lifestyle have on a few occasion ignored their financial responsibilities to family and others in favour of supporting this. Not to mention a few STD cases spread. Children being mistreated and many domestic cases on account of this. This life style sad to say but brings to nothing positive to uplift any society. If you don't believe this, just check the news stories. Some person are paying huge sum to victims and lawyers to keep out the name of this. Even years after the commit these offense. By the way please see a specialist at the BVUHSA Mental Health Dept for a check up.

Scripture has thought us not to cast stones if we are with sin. If we cannot stamp out the sin of lust and adultery, we should atleast tax it, and use the funds towards awareness and education to the downfalls of these sectors. I encourage each and every person to visit a strip club so you can teach other what to avoid. Remember, while scripture tells us to avoid drunkenness, remember that Christ turnt water into wine because enabling a little fun isnt bad in the eyes of our Lord.

We are blessed and I may say lucky that we are not in the days where God stroke down men for lying against the Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ called the Holy Spirit "Spirit of Truth" (John 14:17; 15:26; 16:13) and warned us, "All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men; but the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit shall not be forgiven unto men" (Matthew 12:31).
