Magnitude 6.6 earthquake in North Atlantic felt in VI

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- At around 4:28 PM the [British] Virgin Islands was rocked by a 6.6 magnitude earthquake in the North Atlantic Ocean.

According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake was located 274km NNE of Codrington, Antigua at a depth of 10.0 km.

The Department of Disaster Management (DDM) has listed the earthquake as 5.8 magnitude.

Persons in the Virgin Islands reported that the tremor, while not loud, was a "long one".

DDM has not issued any Tsunami watches or warnings.

    People running out them buildings in town. This one was a long one.

      The thing is, where were they running to? Same way they were running out the buildings in town, the concrete on the street could have start crumbling beneath them.

        @@Mr. gage, if the building is shaking, it is safer to run outside into an open space than stay inside where the building might fall down on you.

      First off, every day we live is a day closer to the end literally which is common sense, I am all for the God thing, but it shouldn't be exploited to scare people. We live in a earthquake zone and have quite a few earthquakes its science. Just stop hoping for the worst and then use it as a weapon to scare people. its more sickening than eye opening tell the world about God's love encourage people to turn to him if you are true believer!
