LSL Bakery extends to Tortola
There was no special opening ceremony as is the usual trend but once the doors were opened the temptations could not have been resisted as LSL Bakery got its familiar rush of customers.
LSL Bakery and Cafe is now occupying a space at the bottom flat of the Cutlass Tower owned by Ms Patsy Lake, on Water Front Drive in the heart of Tortola.
Co-owner of the family business Ms Lestene M. Maduro, when visited yesterday morning by this News Site, confirmed that it is now three similar establishments that are owned by the Maduros. The other two have been in existence for some time now on Virgin Gorda and have been doing very well.
She said that with them now being established they would be better able to serve the Islands from which most of their business orders come from, Tortola. “It’s a fact that most of our orders come from Tortola and we are now right here they do not have to wait for their orders to come all the way from Virgin Gorda,” said Ms Maduro.
Lestene said that it is not the first time that the opportunity presented itself for them to open a branch on Tortola, “But this is the right time we feel. Everything we believe will happen only at the right time and so when we were offered the spot here in this business we jumped at it as we believed that the time is now right,” she said.
She said that while many see them as the experts in cake in the Territory, persons need to try the meals they also prepare. “We are not only about the baked stuff, yes that’s the bigger side of our business but we also want the public to know that we also do lunch and other meals and they need to come try it.”
