BAUGHERS BAY, Tortola, VI- After a nearly 10-year absence, the Long Bush Christmas Day Parade will make a return on Christmas Day, December 25, 2023.

The highly anticipated parade started in 2007 and was last held in 2013.

“We don’t know exactly why [it was not continued] but after so long, we missed it, we the people in the community and the BVI missed it, so we decided to revive it,” said member of the Christmas in Long Bush Committee Josette Allen during Talking Points on ZBVI 780 AM on Monday, December 4, 2023.

D4 Rep Hon Hodge-Smith fully on board!- Josette Allen

Mrs Allen said the Fourth District Representative Hon Luce D. Hodge-Smith is all on board with the event, which will start from 11:00 AM at the Long Bush Band Stand.

The committee member said patrons can look forward to food and drinks, live entertainment from at least 5 bands, bouncy castles for the children, train rides, and the committee is also looking at having donkey rides and pole plaiting.

Allen added that CCT has committed to enter a “float” in the parade, which will go through Lower Estate and return along Main Street.

The Long Bush Christmas Day Parade was a highly anticipated and colourful family event that drew large crowds over the 7 years it was held.

“We missed it after all these years and we just decided to form a committee and bring it back,” Mrs Allen stated.

... and this is certainly not what Christmas is about. Jesus is the Reason For the Season. Revellers shall have their part in the lake of fire.

The costumes posted on Facebook has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with celebrating Christ's birth.

Despicable attire with front and back hanging out is more like prostitution.

You got that right, THOTS and GHETTO WHORES R US will be on the street half naked bending over for the men to sample a taste of their frusy behinds. It is ok to have the parade but keep those half naked street skanks away. Why children have to see the nastiness.

Thanks Ladies for Bringing back the Christmas Parade

That is very nice. Glad to hear about that.

From the first time it stared, it was such a wonderful cultural entertainment for the entire family.
had something to enjoy for the Christmas Day.

    Keep up the good work!

I totally understand and feel the same way. It is for families and their children to enjoy. However, it is not the place for people to be half naked walking up and down the street humping and grinding on each other. That is for festival or what ever you call it not a Christmas parade.

The thots and the half naked street skanks is not welcome at the parade. Go to the strip clubs and shake your half naked funky behinds. There is plenty of room on stage for the men to grind on your funky behinds like Jack rabbits in heat.

All half naked ghetto trash stay away from the parade with your saggy floppy over hanging bellies and tire rolls. No one want to vomit looking at your nasty disgusting flaps.

Willy lynch can rely on our harvested brain to enforce white domination, do you know it's the black race alone in this world that are not if themselves? All other ethnicity does things according to their ancestral belief but we the black man don't have any ideology. We believe in trees and white man bozo Santa, we drilling willy lynch lies into the children head early, when they recognize their emptiness and turn to crime we wonder why, their destiny need to be repurpose and not continue into being colonial subjects. Other races must be laughing at us re-enacting our slave teaching our masters inculcated in us.
