Funding is available for projects addressing resilient buildings, clean energy, water security, ecosystem restoration, food security and sargassum response. Capacity-building grants of up to $10,000 are also available to help organisations strengthen their governance, financial systems and project-delivery skills.

An opportunity to transform practical ideas

According to the VICCTF, in a press release today, September 15, 2026, the Call is open to eligible entities based in the VI, including NGOs, community-based organisations, faith-based organisations, academic institutions, businesses, government agencies and statutory bodies. Partnerships are also encouraged. Applications from individuals are not accepted.

“This first Call for Proposals is an important opportunity for Virgin Islands organisations to transform practical ideas into projects that can strengthen our communities and build a more climate-smart and resilient Virgin Islands,” said VICCTF Chief Executive Officer Chamberlain Emmanuel.

“We encourage applicants to begin the process early and make full use of the guidance and support available,” Emmanuel added.

Application support

VICCTF said application support is available throughout the process. Organisations may:

• Contact the VICCTF Application Helpline via WhatsApp at +1 (284) 345-7207;

• Email grants@vicctf.org;

• Participate in the weekly virtual question-and-answer session held every Wednesday; or

• Attend one of the in-person support sessions being offered across the sister islands.

VICCTF said awards are based on published criteria, recommendations of a Review Committee and final approval of the Board of trustees. It also said funding will be awarded only to eligible organisations after signing of an agreement and will not be paid directly to individuals.
