LJ & J'Versatile are 2026 Soca Monarchs

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- There were no sweeps this year in the Soca Monarch Competition for Emancipation Festival, as there were different winners in both segments. Lenell A. Stevens Jr aka ‘LJ’, who won both segments last year, emerged as the 2026 Soca Monarch in the Power Category, while Jan Williams, aka J'versatile, won the Groovy Segment at Lavida Cottoy Festiville on July 28, 2026.
LJ, who won the Power Segment with 265 points for his song 'Get On', also won Best Performer.
The First Runner Up, Diffy, had 246 points. Diffy also won Most Energetic Performance.
The Second Runner Up was J'Versatile, with 244 points.
The other competitor in the Power Segment was Mr Blues.
Groovy Segment
Meanwhile, J'Versatile amassed 277 points en route to being crowned 2026 Soca Monarch in the Groovy Segment. His winning song was 'All A Dat'.
J'Versatile, the 2023 Soca Monarch, also won Best Groove, while Pascal won Best Performer.
The Second Runner Up in the Groovy Segment was LJ (252 points), while the First Runner Up was Pascal (261 points).
The other competitor in the Groovy Segment was JJ.
