ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – The administration of Dr. D Orlando Smith Hospital has issued a notice to the public that there will be a temporary disruption in visitation services on Sunday, August 20, 2023, due to scheduled routine maintenance on the hospital's high voltage systems.

“During this maintenance period, the hospital's high voltage systems will undergo maintenance procedures to ensure their optimal functionality and reliability. As a result, visitors are advised that there will be no visitation allowed within the hospital premises until 2:00 PM on that day.”

The hospital in a release added that the safety and comfort of patients, visitors, and staff are of paramount importance and they understand the inconvenience the restriction may cause.

“We sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to enhance our facility's infrastructure to provide the highest level of care”

The release further detailed that while visitation will be temporarily restricted, all other hospital services will continue to operate normally and patients can rest assured that their medical care and needs will not be affected by this maintenance work.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding as we prioritize the safety and efficiency of our hospital's systems,” Hospital officials said.
