ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Chief Executive Officer of LIME BVI Tim R. Ringsdore has announced that as part of its restructuring and rebranding the company will next year roll out its high quality cable television services.

“This is basically TV over your broadband service,” said Ringsdore in a recent exclusive interview with this news site.

“For that you would need super fast speeds to do that and as you know we’re rolling that out across the island and we’re doing a lot of work on the network to be able to support that,” he said.

When asked what the timetable was for this, he said the latter part of next year. “That’s the plan at this time. It depends how fast we can roll the service out in the BVI. But as I said we as a team are doing quite a but of work on the network as we continue to upgrade it to support those new exciting services.”

Demand is there

Asked what research was done to establish whether or not there is demand for the new services, Ringsdore indicated that the need was there.

“I think there is demand for it definitely. I think content and the quality of the content are what customers need to look at as to the type of content that we are offering compared to our competitors. We believe we have the richest content and we continue to have great negotiations with various content providers,” he said.

Ringsdore noted that it should be all about having choices.

“At the end of the day the customer should have a choice and that’s a good thing for the territory. So a good choice with a good variety of content the customers will make their mind up. We are confident that customers will choose the Flow TV content because we think it has probably got the richest content.”

Changeover in a matter of weeks

With regard to the rebranding of the company to Flow, Ringsdore said that this should be taking place over a matter of weeks.

“Obviously you’ve got a lot of posters and signage that have got to be taken down and new ones put up. We are hoping to complete that in a number of weeks. We’re actually in the middle of planning that at this moment so hopefully it will be a relatively smooth process,” he said.

Telecommunications provider Digicel BVI had earlier this year announced that it was also rolling out a cable TV service which it said would be better than what was offered in the territory with regards to cable television.

With all the continued problems with my broadband, I would have to be a fool to trust that Lime could provide my cable TV as well. Good luck though, I hope I am proven wrong as BVI Cable are almost as bad.

Digicel and Lime busy making changes by going into cable boxes while our local brothers busy fighting with the TRC. Are they trying to make some one break the laws?

Reading all these news articles online about this company, I jus spent six and a half minutes trying to understand this:
Most people are saying "LIME, please give me the Internet service I am paying for, my Internet service is NOT GOOD and desperately needs an upgrade" and LIME is saying "kool, how about some Cable TV"

Ok, for a "Communications" company, LIME needs to work on it's listening skills. Just a little advice, maybe you should give the people what they want and not just what you think they need....shouldn't always be ALL about the $$$$$

Listen I know you want to do big things but try handling/finishing one service, prove that you can adequately provide that product/service from trying to dip your hand in everything. How long you all say you providing Superfast internet now? And I doubt you reach any further than Road Town yet rates going up for people internet. The problem I have with businesses here are they need to worry more about giving quality basic services that represent the core of their business, rather than setting out and hanging their hat higher than they can reach and providing subpar services for basic aspects. The whole island can't get the increase the speed, but essentially you pay yourselves more for providing us with the same MBPS speed by increasing our prices. Now to top it off you going to provide tv? You do realize that for that to work you have to have quality speed right otherwise you will just be selling a buffering box??

Their current service sucks. Their prices are ridiculous and outrageous. They barely offer 3gbs package. But they want us to believe they can do TV too? Right! We are sick of bvi cable tv with their french and Japanese and spanish and rugby programming but LIME will be ten times worse with a much higher bill! NOOOO Spank you!

I am disturbed by what appears to me as conflicting information from LIME when there have been little or no improvements in service and support

I knew this was coming from the moment i heard about the super fast internet. For years lime could not be trusted to provide quality internet, now by introducing cable the internet will still suck and they will blame it on how many persons accessing the bandwidths on the cable. There's no way anyone will see the speeds they are paying for.

They have not said so in so many words, but I believe their intention is to get fibre optic cable right into your property, or within a few metres. That should improve your Internet speed and enough bandwidth for TV. I know prices and service are outrageous, but hang in there!

They spent the better part of one year digging up the roads and inconveniencing everyone yet when I get home the internet is still as slow as ever. Working hours in Town might as well forget trying to get any bandwidth because there is none

This is already a fail. First of all... you don't "think" the demand is there... you need to KNOW! Go out and do your research sir before you get the short end of the stick. Give out surveys or something. You need to be able to fix one of your services before entering into a new one. The people of the BVI use previous performances to make customer buying decisions and they don't quite like your telecommunication services. So please... rethink this rebranding.

I think it is disingenuous bordering on highway robbery for LIME to increase my internes service cost base on the premise of improved service delivery knowing full well that there is no improved service in WE. Where is the TRC to protect us. Broadband service my be improved in Road Town but certainly not in WE and TRC officials knows this fully well and sit back while we are raped.

Good idea. We need another option. Cheaper and better. This one is another CCT...killing us. Greedy. Option is always a good thing.

Rebranding. Hmmmm.. You have a lot of good marketing and public relations to do. Backed up with a delivery of quality and inexpensive service... Then it will work.

A very succesful business owner once said to me that a company success is driven by the talent and quality of their workers.. Period.. Seems like who are doing the hiring for Lime don't have that nitch or that six sense for talent.. That's the post that need addressing. HR.
