ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – LIME BVI today May 5, 2014 announced that it hopes to the be the first telecommunications company in the Virgin Islands to offer fiber optic as it presses on to improve its service to its customers.

This was announced by LIME BVI General Manager Mr Sean Auguste, who was at the time speaking at an Appreciation Luncheon for members of the media and other stakeholders held at Maria’s By The Sea today May 5, 2014.

“The future of LIME is filled with many firsts… like we were the first with 4G; the first to introduce payment plans to our customers for them to get the latest handsets on the market; the first to use local imaging in the majority of our ads; the first to offer our customers savings…” he said.

“We hope to be the first with fiber soon and we hope that you would consider being a part of it,” he said.

Asked to provide more information as to when the company will launch its fiber optic service, Auguste said that at the moment some of the issues are commercially sensitive and promised that the company will make a disclosure at the right time.

Auguste expressed the company’s appreciation to members of the media, the business community and other interests for helping the company in achieving its objectives over the past months.

He saluted journalists for giving the company a fair chance of responding when stories regarding Lime surfaced. He said that the company will continue to be open to the media with the hope that the media will continue to give it a chance to respond to relevant issues.

“If you are here today you are on our roll call of our most important and influential people to Lime as an organization. If you are here today you were chosen by our Marketing Department as the people who must be here to celebrate and [be thanked] in person. So once again we say thank you,” he said.

Auguste said that the future for LIME is bright. “We hope you will continue to report on it. It is filled with expansions and upgrades that will see you the customer happier,” he said.
