BAUGHERS BAY, Tortola, VI – Raising monies for charity can be fun and entertaining as is expected to be the case this weekend at Club Opium in Baughers Bay.

With an extended weekend, as Monday October 21, 2013 being a Territorial holiday- St Ursula’s Day, the management of Club Opium has put things in order to ensure that persons have just rewards after weeks of toiling. It’s the weekend set aside for ‘Libra Fest’

Club Opium’s Libra fest is scheduled for October 18 – 20, 2013.

On the night of  Friday October 18 will be the “VI DJ linkup” with DJs Dre and Chubby, October 19, “Old Skool  2 new skool” with Jamband and VI Showtime Band.

The “Pink Marti Gras and white T and Beda” event will be on Sunday night, September 20, 2013 with DJ Bertrum and Stylee Band.

According to management, the pace has been set, the order has been arranged and it’s only left for patrons to turn out and have one of the most promising weekend of fun and entertainment. “We are looking forward to a clean fun, incident-free weekend for the Libra Fest. Thing have been going very good in this regards over the past months and we want to encourage our patrons to let it continue along that trend,” Management told Virgin Islands News Online.

For that weekend, patrons would be able to buy a weekend pass for $35 that gives them access to all three nights and for Sunday night’s pink Marti Gras, person who did not cash in on the package persons wearing white vest would get a reduced price at the door in addition to being adorned with complimentary bead chains.

The Pink Marti Gras will see the club dedicating proceeds to the BVI Cancer Society. “It’s a white Beda, it’s a white vest jam. You have to wear your white vest which will entitle you to get in on a discount price. You are going to also be adorned with lots of pink beads free of cost,” management said.

Part proceeds from the pink Mari Gras will go to the BVI Cancer Society in support of Breast and other forms of cancers affecting persons in the Territory.

The deadline for the purchase of package tickets is Friday October 16, 2013 at 6 P.M. at Da Spot.                

According to the schedule of performances and appearances for the Libra Fest weekend, on Friday DJ Dre will be on before DJ Chubby. On Saturday DJ Ha milli will start the night from 10 – 12 P.M., the Jam band will follow and VI Showtime will seal the night.

For Sunday, DJ Bertram will be the pace setter to be followed by Daddy Shaw and putting the zipper on the night will be the Stylee Band. “We will be starting every night at 10 P.M. sharp,” management noted.
