ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Former British Virgin Islands Health Services Authority (BVIHSA) Human Resource Manager Levor A.H. Lettsome has officially entered the upcoming general election as an at-large candidate, marking the first formal candidacy under the banner of the Virgin Islands Innovative Association (VIIA).

In a declaration rooted in calls for accountability, transparency, and community-centred governance, Lettsome positioned his campaign as a response to decades of systemic neglect and economic stagnation affecting families and local businesses across the territory.

VIIA stands ready to tackle long-standing issues

In a video posted on Facebook, Lettsome, a proud Virgin Islander with a background in health services administration, said he is running to “restore your voice, protect your hard-earned investments and reclaim the future of our country.”

He emphasised that the VIIA stands ready to tackle long-standing issues that have hindered progress, urging residents to unite behind a modern, strategic approach to governance that prioritises people over politics.

His message stressed the need for a legislative council that truly listens, as well as policies designed to break cycles of stagnation and uplift households and enterprises alike.

The announcement also highlighted Lettsome’s stated commitment to “fearlessness, accountability, and absolute transparency.”

More declarations to come

He further acknowledged both those familiar with his track record and those he has yet to meet, thanking supporters and signalling that additional VIIA candidates will soon make their own official declarations as part of a broader, progressive slate.

Lettsome further stated, “If you really want change, choose VIIA, your voice, your future, your choice.”

Lettsome’s professional background includes service as Human Resources Manager at the BVIHSA, where he was named in audit reports and related controversies before later being vindicated in court rulings that saw apologies issued over earlier allegations.

His entry into electoral politics as the VIIA’s first official representative adds a new dimension to the territory’s evolving political landscape ahead of the next general election.

Meanwhile, Mr Lettsome did not immediately respond to our request for his comment.

It must come better it's to bitter. Bvi swallowed a bitter pill coi handicap the BVI now we need a new vision to put it back together. Harsh reality. For sure the people of the territory can see it's not party politics anymore. This is a wake up call for the territory no family and friends politics.
Read between the lines and vote your conscience. Vote for your children and grandchildren they are the ones who will have to take this territory forward. All the ills and debts they will have to bear. To much hardship and corruption family and friends politics in this territory. The witches are out like Halloween in the bvi sweeping havoc throughout the territory. Bvi needs a serious purging from east to the west north and south, up and down , all around, all the religious people fan to sleep while witches walking our streets. All you think it's joke you better wake up out of our sleep and slumber and cover this territory. Brother if God call you to run don't let nothing stop you. You may very well be the one. Run with God's anointing flowing through your soul. Run with a purpose, fight for equal rights and justice. Run don't stop stay on your knees before the God of us all. Life must get better not bitter, oh the pain and frustration of many. i trust that you can make a difference whatever is God's will so be it.
