ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Local businessman and horseracing icon Mr Lesmore Smith has made a noble contribution to the athletic community.

Mr Smith, together with his company, Top Priority Security Services, awarded BVI Athletics Association (BVIAA) members Orlando Douglas and Jabari Pemberton with partial scholarships to aid their collegiate journey.

The handover held on June 12, 2025, at Mr Smith's offices was a significant step in the preparation for these athletes, the BVIAA stated in a Facebook post.

Both young men will be attending Highland Community College in Freeport, Illinois, this fall.

"The scholarship comes at a crucial time and speaks to the importance of private partnerships in sports," BVIAA stated.

"We extend a special thank you to Mr. Smith for his philanthropic and corporate sponsorship, which will now ensure these student-athletes have an opportunity to progress beyond the borders of these Virgin Islands," BVIAA added.

Lesmore not even part of the government or a member of hoa and doing more for the bvi than any of them sitting in hoa. Not too long ago he fix up the senior home in vg with his own money. If you going to vote at all at least vote for people you actually seeing doing positive things not just people who hardly ever on island because it always have a conference somewhere; they go in a room every so often and talk talk talk and pretend to be concerned about things but don’t actually do nothing or get nothing done then give themselves big raise and retirement package for doing nothing but enjoying the perks of the job. You don’t hear this man mouth whenever you see him in the news it’s because he just do something good for the bvi out of his own pocket. We have xenophobes in hoa being praised as patriots Lesmore is a REAL Patriot.
