Legs say thanks party style!
The team retained their Basketball Federation Senior title by defeating Mega Mix in the final back in August 2012 and retaining their title which was first won in 2011.
Captain of the team, Kennedy Bass, Speaking to this news site, explained that because of all the support the team got from their friends and families, they decided to throw a party, that is totally free, so that everyone can come out and enjoy their victory.
The team celebrated their win with a party at Sand Box bar at UPs Complex last year and decided to do another party this year. “We just giving back to our fans like I said, and try keep on doing what we do, this is what we do; party together.”
Fans, family and supporters of the team, who attended the party, were treated to a live DJ, drinks and six-time road march champions Showtime Band, all for free.
Team Captain sent out appreciation to Hon. Mark Vanterpool and Hon. Myron V. Walwyn, for being there throughout the season as main sponsors.
He added that both Hon. Vanterpool and Hon. Walwyn, ‘came up’ big for the team throughout the season and for that the team says thanks.
Mr. Bass said the team that ranges in age from 18-35, lost three years in a row prior to 2011. In light of this, he said the team was forced to make some changes in key positions on the court. “We made some changes and we pull through to win two straight, we going for third next year.”
One advantage his team has over others that participated in the league, Bass noted, is the fact that his team is probably one of the closest teams, family wise. Mr. Bass said the team has been together for a long time, “it has about 5-7 guys that played together for a very long time. 10 years or more…. the chemistry is what has us going.”
The Legs basketball team, according to the team captain, is made up of talented guys, both who travelled overseas to develop their skills in the game and the others who have raw talent. “Everybody is well known.”
Mr. Bass, was recruited by an overseas coach and attended the Clinton Community College in Iowa, right after high school, in efforts to further develop his skills in basketball.
