PURCELL ESTATE, Tortola, VI- In a sudden announcement that has shocked customers, the legendary local restaurant Stone Haven located in Purcell Estate announced today, September 25, 2023, that it has closed for good.

The announcement was made on the restaurant’s Facebook page.

“We regret to inform you that Stone Haven Restaurant has permanently closed its doors. This decision has not been an easy one, but due to unforeseen circumstances, we have had to make this difficult choice,” the announcement by the ‘Stone Haven Restaurant Management Team’ explained.

One of the reasons for closing

Stone Haven Restaurant said the decision to close also comes as the “matriarch” has reached a point in her life where she wishes to take some time for herself, enjoy the fruits of her labour, and focus on personal endeavors, including travel and spending quality time with her family.

“After dedicating countless hours to the restaurant, she wishes to focus on creating lasting memories and strengthening the bonds with her loved ones.”

Stone Haven Restaurant extended gratitude to its customers for their loyal patronage and support throughout the years.

“Once again, we sincerely appreciate your support and are truly grateful for the opportunity to have served you,” Stone Haven Restaurant stated.

Sone Haven closed a long time ago. This new establishment only bore the name but the legendary Stone Haven departed years ago.

Something bigger on the horizon...let's just wait and see.

Had a visit to Tortola to play Softball back in 1972 with my Jr. HS team from St. Croix and I was lucky to be hosted by this family. Ms Muriel and her daughters treated me so well, like family. I will never forget it or them! We ate at the restaurant everyday, I even got to attend my first dance upstairs. It was a great trip and I made great friends!
Your time of rest is well deserved Ms Muriel.

Excellent move, Mrs Hamm. Thanks for the good food and service. Both you and Mr Hamm (deceased) have contributed significantly to the Virgin Islands (whilst raising two beautiful daughters) and should be commended. God bless you with your future endeavors. Relax, get lots of rest, enjoy your family and friends. You can now deal with your 'bucket list'. Attempt the things you always wanted to do because you deserve it.
