Le Petite – a different Sports Lounge!
Located in Baugher’s Bay above the Big Brother's gas station, the lounge offers a refreshingly elegant atmosphere of music, cocktails, food and sports entertainment all under one small roof.
The décor is as incredibly breath taking and quite dissimilar to the types of sports lounges that one might encounter around the island of Tortola and this is exactly what the proprietor, Clive Baronville, said he hoped for.
“We serve in class, no matter who you are,” Mr Baronville said, “I set the bar high… put it on another level.”
Coupled with its striking colours, the lounge offers a cosy air-conditioned room with an exquisite layout that is filled with the promise of entertainment and a relatively quiet evening.
There is of course, the added option of watching your favourite sports game in High Definition on any of a number of mounted television screens around the room.
He explained that the initiative came from a desire to open a classy sports lounge that catered to the tastes of older folks, while adding that it was always his dream to create something that had this type of special appeal.
The service is also remarkable as patrons are either greeted by the owner himself or well trained and uniformed waitresses that warmly welcome persons as they enter the premises.
He also has hopes of making the business into a franchise, “I want to probably put one in West End and another in East End,” he said.
Mr Baronville added that he was proud of the achievement, “I was always into hospitality but never knew what my career was until I really started interacting with people.”
The former accountant described himself as a people person, “when you come to my door, you don’t just go to the bar, get a drink and then go to your table… I sit you down and then I send a waitress to you,” he said.
“It’s more than me just selling you a drink,” he remarked, “I’m selling hospitality… class.” Though not entirely exclusive, the Lounge is upscale but at the same time, offers affordably priced food and drinks.
Mr Baronville said that the Lounge is so small that patrons have no choice but to say goodnight to each other and this adds a homely touch to the atmosphere. “I want to bring back that community feeling… I want them to say ‘let’s interact’,” he said.
The Lounge is opened daily from around 5 P.M. until late and there will soon be a Corporate Night special introduced sometime in the near future as well.
