Laying of new artificial turf on football field in Greenland now underway
The project, which was initially slated to be completed by mid-August 2025, is progressing.
The installation of the new artificial turf is now finally underway.
According to the BVI Football Association (BVIFA), the upgraded facility will provide a modern, high-quality playing surface that meets international standards and supports the continued growth of football in the Virgin Islands.
The BVIFA has not stated when the project is now expected to be completed and when football will return to the field in Greenland.
Matches in the BVIFA National League are currently being played at A. O. Shirley Grounds on Tortola and in Virgin Gorda; however, there have been complaints about inadequate lighting at A.O. Shirley Grounds.
