ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The late former legislator and cultural icon Mrs Eileene L. Parsons aka ‘Mrs P’, is currently Lying in State today, July 16, 2025, and the general public can view the body from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Parsons passed away on June 22, 2025, at Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital.

The body of the late Parsons was put to lie in state from 9:00 AM, and only family members were given the privilege to view the body for the first hour.

From 10:15 AM to 11:00 AM, Past and Present Members of the House of Assembly were allowed to pay their respects.

The late Parsons, who died just days shy of her 95th birthday, was the first woman in the Virgin Islands (VI) to serve as a Government Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and Deputy Speaker of the then Legislative Council.

Official funeral & burial

She will be laid to rest on Thursday, July 17, 2025, following an official funeral at the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex.

The official funeral will commence with a procession from the House of Assembly Chambers at 8:00 AM to the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex.

A pre-service is scheduled for 8:30 AM, with the funeral service following at 10:00 AM.

Interment will follow at the Road Town Methodist Church Cemetery in Long Bush, on the main island of Tortola.

Official flags will be flown in the Territory at half-mast on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at all Government buildings.

    @jack: but the same people or politicians did not want to listen to her advise, she was unpredictable and call a spade a spade when she sees it, she even embraced the alliance team just before her passing.
