But, she deserves every bit of it. She genuinely loved these islands and did a lot for them culturally. That, none of those parties could deny. May her soul rest in eternal peace and may her memory be a blessing.

I have always had a deep respect for Eileene Parsons's down to earth courage to speak out, but I find that the carriage bearing her casket to be ostentatious and out of keeping. I doubt that it was her choice.

Since this is a state funeral and government is paying the bill ….. who is keeping the carriage ? Was govt billed for this?

We’ve had other state funerals in the BVI before this one…..that our government paid for…have they kept the vehicles the body come in? There goes your answer to your question.

@question No they did not keep the vehicles because they were not charged for them. The audit of this bill should be very interesting.

It was not a state funeral, only an OFFIAL Funeral, which can be organized by govt for former members of LEGCO. State funerals are only extended when the person dies while in office
In the last 75 years we only had 2 state funerals: Hon Lavity & Hon Paul. I recall for our first ever for Lavity we had to seek advice from Antigua and other countries on how to perform a State Funeral

And who did they sort advice from when their first state funeral was held??

Do you even know the definition of state funeral? And by the way there were more state funerals held in the BVI other than Hon. LH Stoutt and Paul Wattley.

That carriage is the craziest thing I have ever seen. What is the purpose? She is dead and knows nothing! The best thing is for a person to make their soul right with God. That's what's important.

Please listen to my two cents:

I have no doubt that Mrs. Parsons served this country well.
However, all the glits and glamour, fine speeches cannot give entrance into God's Kingdom. All I heard while watching the funeral was what she did for the country, what she did, what she did. What about her soul? I am not God, but the Bible says, "By their fruits ye shall know them." From the Special Sitting one can hear about her love for Johnny Walker and what she did. Absolutely nothing for the Lord.

What made me shake my head is when the Methodist Minister failed to preach to the couple hundreds of people that were at the funeral and invite them to REPENT of their sins, but no, it was all about Eileen who has gone to sleep after being on this earth for 94 years and a couple of days! It is a crying shame, and some of these so-called Ministers need to come off the pulpit because God is not pleased. Ministers like these are one of the reasons I don't care to attend funerals these days because they disgust me with all these fancy speeches when there is an opportunity to invite them to surrender to God. No matter if they are honourable this, or honourable that, they NEED THE LORD because death is no respecter of persons. It is time to speak to the living! Time is short! Jesus is soon to come! STOP compromising or get off the pulpit!!
