Don't look like furniture to me, more like supermarket supplies. It appears to me that he made it to the top, judging from where some of the load landed, and then something went wrong (maybe he missed a gear or he shifted too quickly)

@Faithful. V knows that it is not furniture, those are the lyrics from a local calypso.

@v. You are not kidding. That truck looks as if it was overloaded. That was a hella lot of items all over the road. I see trucks overloaded all of the time and I don't drive behind them, and this is what I am afraid of.

I'm not saying this is necessarily the case here but trucks are constantly overloaded, poorly maintained and badly driven. The number of times I've been nearly run off the road by trucks speeding down the hill where there isn't a chance they could stop if they needed to in an emergency. We need to bring in stricter tests for truck drivers and have police out stopping dangerously loaded trucks. Don't get me started on the concrete trucks!

Glad nobody was seriously injured. Time to look into these 30+ year old trucks on the roads still carrying these massive loads over the hills. It's only a matter of time before we have a real serious situation. Imagine if this happened later in the morning with other traffic/vehicles.

They need load regulation for these trucks!!

These two comments are not nice. What if it was any of you or your family members? We all know that Sophie Bay Hill Road is not a good road, plus he was carrying a lot of cargo. You all just be saying that he was not seriously injured and wish him God's healing. Too much unkindness in this place man!

maybe the load being transported needs balancing or maybe the load exceeds the maximum load permitted

maybe the driver need to engage low gear from the foot of the hill

For years locals have been hurting themselves on this hill, the first tourist(GOD forbid) to experience the same will result in them finally fixing it.

Also a lot of heavy machine operators are not servicing their vehicles regularly. Sometimes the breaks on these things screech all the way down the hills. Drivers you all need to start a union and force your bosses to provide hazard training, additional insurance, and get a life insurance policy that your children will be taken care of if you die. You guys need to accept the fact that you work in a dangerous industry.

Too much of reckless driving on the road today. It seems we have more accident in the BVI than it have in the United States of America.
