ZION HILL, Tortola, VI - Listing his hobbies as playing basketball and soccer, and having a future desire to own a local trucking company, 11-year-old Ky'Onte Joseph of Cane Garden Bay, Tortola, in the Virgin Islands (VI) is the 22nd recipient of the Ivan Dawson Memorial Scholarship 2023.
the young Mr Joseph is the son of Ms. Arjunta Nibbs aka Ķarna Nibbs and Mr. Añselm Joseph and in his award of the schoolship, the Ivan Dawson Memorial Scholarship Committee also congratulated for winning the award.
The scholarship is in memory of the late legislator Hon Ivan Dawson CBE who on his passing requested that in lieu of flowers, a scholarship be given to the top academic student of the Ivan Dawson Primary School and funds be raised to give it annually.
This is the 22nd year of scholarships awarded under the initiative. The scholarship and funding usually go towards purchasing supplies for the new school year.
