Why would you wish to be under your colonizers? You are obviously not a Virgin Islander!

BVI vs UK in the education of the people of the BVI. Over the last 60yrs BVI 3000 National Scholarship to the people of BVI. UK 5 scholarships in 5 yrs to the people of BVI. I would say BVI has done pretty well by its people.

I'm confused, is this another example of the UK oppressing Virgin Islanders?

This is another one of the UK's ruses designed to disguise its true intentions towards Virgin Islanders (control and raid the natural resources of Africa's diasporas). Much like 'western aid' to Africa, these colonizers distribute sporadic freebies that can barely sustain the people, while denying true reparations. This they define as Modern Partnership Aid. It is a total disrespect to the intelligence of the People! I hope this helps with your confusion!

Oh please. First of all congratulations to the young man but let us be for real. The UK in the last three years start to award one scholarship a year to BVI. While we are thankful the facts reveal that over the last 60yrs the BVI has award on average 40 scholarship per year to the people of the BVI. If the BVI was waiting and depending on the UK we would have never developed the people of the BVI and by extension the BVI. SO WHAT IS ALL OF YOU POINT!

Congratulations. With the 25 scholarships given out this year alone by the BVI Government and the one UK scholarship now as well as thousands attending HLSCC which the local government made free for all BVI people, is a major step in the right direction for the people of the BVI.

Congratulations young man. Leave it to the UK to try to try to make themselves look good and look like saviors. They award one scholarship and they make it seem like the greatest thing ever happen in BVI. Meanwhile BVI made the HLSCC free, and awards thousands of scholarship over the last many years, and some of our people allowing this UK marketing scheme to have them overlook this awesome and consistent investment by government in its people.

The UK awards this scholarship for years around the world but only the last few years start to award BVI one of such scholarship per year because they are trying to earse their years of neglect of the BVI through these actions. The BVI is thankful but we are also wide awake. These games will not work anymore.

Calling out things for what they really are should never be viewed as ungrateful. They have instill a heavy dose of mistrust for many years in their so called modern partnership so don't blame the BVI for always being wise & watchful.

I am amazed how no one asked what is the criteria to get these scholarships. Also how come only lately the UK start to include BVI with one or two per year seeing this has been happening for many many many years. Also why hasn't the UK allocated from years ago a significant amount of these scholarships for each dependent territory under them. I guess once it is the Governor and UK and not local government most people go to sleep in terms of accountability and asking the relevant questions.
