Great Britain will begin its quest at the WSBC European Senior Baseball Championship today, September 20, 2025, in the qualifying rounds against the host nation, the Netherlands. Photo: Internet Source

Kennard Dawson (Number 11) and Shamoy Christopher (Number 35), from the Virgin Islands, have been called up to the team. 

Great Britain, ranked 17, is part of Group B, with France, Israel and the Netherlands. 

Group A, also playing in the Netherlands, consists of Czechia, Spain, Germany and Sweden. Group C, comprising Greece, Italy, Lithuania and Switzerland, are playing in Milan, Italy. Group D, playing in Antwerp, Belgium, has Austria, Belgium, Croatia, and Hungary. 

Team Great Britain and the VI boys will begin their quest at the championships today in the qualifying rounds against the host nation, the Netherlands. They will face Israel on Sunday, September 21, 2025 and France on Monday, September 22, 2025.

In 2023, Great Britain won silver at the games. 

VI’s baseballers are having a successful 2025

In August, Virgin Islander Jay D. Smith was part of Great Britain’s U23 European Baseball Championship Team that won the games. 

Also adding to Great Britain’s success were Dariér Malone and Claury Scatliff, who were part of this year’s Women’s Great Britain Baseball National Women’s Team that took home the trophy following the 2025 European Baseball Championships in August 2025.

The WSBC European Senior Baseball Championship begins today, September 20 and runs until September 27, 2025.
