ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Jubilee E. Vanterpool of Ivan Dawson Primary School in Cane Garden Bay is the winner of the 5th Annual My Favourite Teacher Essay Competition held by the Rotary Club of Road Town.

Vanterpool's favourite teacher was Ms Jennifer Cupid of Ivan Dawson Primary School.

Enis Adams Primary School's Sachin Singh, who wrote about his teacher, Ms Fahie, placed second.

Two consolation prizes were awarded for the teacher with the most entries, Mr Ryan from Valley Day Primary School, submitted by students Nathanael Hillhouse, Marcky Nares and Madisonraine Doyle.

The teacher nominated in most of the competitions, year to date, is Coach Mr Riley of Cedar International. The essay about Mr Riley was submitted by Shawri Pemberton.

Honourary Mentions

Tajari Quammie of Joyce Samuel Primary School and Alex Varlack of Claudia Creque Educational Centre also received Honourary Mentions for their creative entries.

This year’s event drew participation of over twenty (20) students across various schools in the territory.

"The annual 'My Favourite Teacher' competition has once again captured the hearts of students, showcasing the incredible impact teachers have on their students’ lives," the Rotary Club of Road Town stated in a press release.
