The search was reportedly conducted around 6:00am by ranks of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF), HM Customs and prison officers.
It is unclear what the search yielded.
The prison search comes on the heels of a stabbing incident on May 30, 2021, that left one inmate dead and 3 others injured.
Our newsroom was also told there is now tension at the prison following prison officers being sent on administrative leave based on recommendations by the National Security Council (NSC) and prisoners reportedly being in possession of prohibited items.

They should restrict all inmates visits for a few weeks. Those visits is where a lot of the drugs and weapons is getting in. Strip search the female visitors, have them squat and cough and see how many bags of weed is going to fall out. If you have to open that bag of flour or sugar someone brought in for a inmate, search the flour or sugar, the drugs or weapon is in the bag. Then and again, some of the guards is paid to look the other way.
One other thing I would also add to is where are the cameras in that place? Every inch of that place should be under survelliance & from the looks of it it's not. Hell my home seems like it have more cameras set up in & around it even more than that joke of a place. Is high time the fun & games cease up there, enough is enough!!
The innocent suffering for the guilty? Lol. It is a prison, are you up there for donating flowers to the eldely? This is what prison life is in the real world. You have no privacy, you have to see others sh**. If you were at home youd have choices. Yall have too much rights up there. No sympathy. When the different underhanded things were going on where was your report? How are you even able to report anything now? I do believe you are still human beings but dang....innocent?
The prison needs to finally be what its called!
Treated as dogs? Dogs should still be treated better...
Whats frustrating? Youre off the streets. Youre doing the time for the crime.. The audacity
That will help in having one officer working for years in one post. And also eliminate the chance of anyone taking a bribe
