CHARLOTTE, North Carolina, USA- Virgin Islands’ 2019 CARIFTA gold medallist in the 200m Jaleel J.N. Croal has been crowned the double sprint champion at the American Outdoor Championships 2025 held at Irwin Belk Track & Field Center in Charlotte, North Carolina from May 15-17, 2025.

Croal, clocking 20.28 seconds, also smashed the meet record and set a VI national record in the 200m, eclipsing Dion Crabbe’s 20.30 seconds.

Croal’s previous best was 20.38.

AAC Conference Outdoor MVP

Jaleel, representing South Florida University, also doubled down with a 10.26s gold medal finish in the 100M finals, and copped the AAC Conference Outdoor MVP award.

Croal, who in 2019 was hailed by sprint queen Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce as one to watch for the future, also won the 2024 Indoor Conference Championships sprint double.
