BIRMINGHAM, Alabama, USA- Virgin Islands’ high jumper and freshman at Florida A&M University (FAMU), Jah'kyla Morton captured a silver medal at her first collegiate meet on January 9, 2026.

Morton soared through the sky with a Season’s Best 1.66m to place second in the Women's High Jump at the UAB Blazer Green and Gold Invite 2026.

Taking the gold medal was Alana Simon of Southern Missouri with a leap of 1.69m, while third was Halle Carden of Chattanooga with a jump of 1.63m.

Morton is a 3-time CARIFTA Games medalist and also a NACAC gold medalist.
