Jae'Nyiah Defreitas crowned 2026 Festival Prince & Princess
The show was held at the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex under the theme ‘Wild Spirits, Rooted in Heritage’.
Defreitas captured the Miss Congeniality, Best Ambassadorial Costume, Best in Talent, and Best Evening Wear awards.
She is no stranger to pageantry or winning crowns, as she is the 2025 Virgin Gorda Easter Festival Princess and the first FLPS Angel of Christmas, which was held in 2024.
Xae'mouri Harrigan of Alexandrina Maduro Primary School was crowned the 2026 Prince by default as he was the only male contestant for this year’s pageant.
Awards
Sariah Smith captured First Runner-Up, and also walked away with the Popularity Award, People’s Choice Award, Best Ambassadorial Speech, Best in Jungle Couture Wear, and Best in Evening Wear.
Second Runner Up went to Mbozako Adams, who won the Best Intro Dance and Best Interview awards.
Gabriella Watson took home the Photogenic Award. Earlana Prescott was the other contestant.
The Prince and Princess Pageant is one of the first events of the annual Virgin Islands Emancipation Festival which officially runs from July 25 to August 8, 2026.

not the Princess alone. The show was poorly advertised without any posters on most media sites.
The Pageant fb page has on the winners with crowns photoshopped from a previous photo shoot and not the actual photo from the show. That’s so tacky that people would wonder if it had a photographer. Thanks to all who showed actual photos of the winners from the show itself
