PORT PURCELL, Tortola, VI- If one hasn’t been feeling the Christmas spirit just yet, a visit to the Port Purcell roundabout in the Sixth District could change all of that.

Thanks to the Rotary Club of Tortola, the heavily trafficked roundabout has been transformed by a spectacular Christmas tree, lighted nativity scenes, and of course Santa Claus.

The light-up of the tree took place on Friday, December 11, 2020.

It has been quite some years now that the oldest Rotary Club in the territory, Rotary Club of Tortola, has been sponsoring the roundabout at Port Purcell. This allows them to decorate the circle as they see fit for the Christmas season.

The now transformed roundabout has already become a popular spot for Christmas season photographs.

‘Spared life enough reason to celebrate’- Dion A. Stoutt

According to President Dion A. Stoutt, the Rotary Club of Tortola prides itself with being able to add some joy to the hearts of people who commute the area during this time of the year.

"While COVID 19 has dealt us some blows this year we are spared life which is every reason to celebrate. This attraction is a great reminder for us all to continue to follow the guiding lights of life and like the star to the top of the tree we must stay on top, rooted and brilliant."

Mr Stoutt expressed gratitude to his members who all played a role in the beautification of the roundabout this year.
