'It sucks!' - Hon Julian Fraser RA on SCB water situation

Responding to this news site's request for a comment on the situation, Honourable Fraser said that the matter was not even worth commenting on. “It is not worth a mention,” said a clearly disgusted Honourable Fraser.
Just last month, Honourable Fraser was joined by Minister for Communications and Works Honourable Mark H. Vanterpool (R4) as they toured parts of Sea Cows Bay with a view to ascertaining the depth of the problem and to look at when it would be addressed.
Writing on his Facebook page on January 8, 2016, Honourable Fraser said, “Today I was reliably informed by the Minister for Communications and Works that water is now being placed in the Hannah Hill Reservoir and it will be distributed to residents of Sea Cows Bay, Hannah’s, Palestina, Pleasant Valley, and all other areas serviced by the reservoir, including Collon Hill.”
He said he and the residents of the Third District should all be looking forward to some much welcomed and needed relief.
Honourable Fraser noted too that if what the Minister said is true, that should mark the end to water shortages in the area, since residents can now get water from Sabbath Hill Reservoir to Hannah Hill Reservoir, due to a reported fix to the distribution system along the Ridge Road.
Nothing was fixed
Sea Cows Bay resident Claire Mills said that yesterday February 25, 2016 was the first day in about a week that the water stayed on as long as it did.
“In terms of water the problem never fixed,” she said. “For the week today was the longest it stayed on,” she said.
“We got today all day so we might not get any tomorrow.” She said too that when Minister Vanterpool toured the area with Honourable Fraser the water came on the next day and from the day after that it went again.
Mills asked the question why Sea Cows Bay people cannot get water all the time and also asked whether it was deliberate just to spite Honourable Fraser.
“To me, and this is my personal opinion, to me I think it is deliberate. But not supplying water to Sea Cows Bay is not punishing Honourable Fraser, it is punishing the residents of Sea Cows Bay who pay for water and cannot have it,” he said.
Further, she said that it is unfair for persons to have to pay water bills and not have the comfort of running water.
“I feel like I am living in Haiti or one of those places where you have to use buckets to take a bath,” said Mills.
Efforts to reach Minister Vanterpool for an update on the efforts to address the water situation in Sea Cows Bay and other parts of the Third District proved futile.
