BAUGHERS BAY, Tortola, VI- Social commentator and Pastor, Claude O. Skelton-Cline, has lashed back at Hon Stacy R. Mather (AL), calling him immature.

Pastor Skelton-Cline responded to Hon Mather’s comments during the Continuation of the Ninth Session of the Second Sitting of the Fifth House of Assembly on September 22, 2025, where the 2022-2023 Constitution Review Commission (CRC) Report was being debated.

Hon Mather, during his debate contribution, said, “There’s one colourful man on the radio who likes to say, ‘Where’s the list of things you’ve achieved?'”

On his show, Honestly Speaking on September 30, 2025, on ZBVI 780 AM, Pastor Skelton-Cline responded briefly to Hon Mather during his show titled ‘The Future is Now’.

It shows his immaturity- Skelton-Cline

“We saw Mather with some of his frolic, made his comment and in a case where he even mentioned me, and what it shows is in that instant, it shows the immaturity really of his person, and irresponsibility of his legislative duty, the lack of wisdom behind his words, and the poverty of his argument,” Skelton-Cline said.

He added that the comment showed the “poverty” of Hon Mather’s argument, as he had to resort to personally assaulting a private citizen for having a different view.

“There are particular rules in the Standing Orders around this matter, but I will leave that to the instructions of that have already been given.”

We need to stop seeing Political elections as a popularity contest we are electing too many opportunists and dead weight. This particular representative brings nothing to the table. Could it be he has nothing to offer except a bunch of fluff.

He and the others need to put back that money. You all are just as bad if you rally around any of them.

Mather has delivered on the YEP facility and a great investment in the you people on island. Claud did nothing but line his own pocket in failing to provide aanything for the young people of the island. Thinks drugs and gambling is the way forward. Why do we waste so much time on this fool.

Skelton-Cline likes to stand in the public square and pelt stones of provocation. Mather picked one up, lobbed it back, and now hear how he is bawling. CSC, you can’t provoke the public and then cry foul when the public responds. That’s not maturity, it’s selective outrage.

Mother is an elected leader, CSC is just a citizen entitled to voice his opinion. They are not the same and should not be adjudged the same. An elected leader is held to a higher standard. So do not compare the two! Claude is right. No elected official should be mentioning or attempting to blast any private citizens. Truth is that Mather has a done nothing in his short term except marry so n so. Just like his hero MVW he will be the second person to get voted out after having the most votes the previous election!

High standard what? Well, you hold them to whatever you like. We just want them to return the money! In his short term he was able to increase his wages exponentially that's ALL he did! Did he give you some of it? He Needs To Go!

Look here pardna; you are the e immature begging champion of these islands. You have st**** from the people of the VI by your deeds. You are not eligible to speak to anyone about honesty, integrity or any other moral high ground.

As for those that say Mather ain’t going back in HOA - well think again. He is for the people and speaks truth to power! That’s why ayo afraid of him. Run go chat that! He has my vote and thousands of others!!!
