ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Interpath Advisory, the independent financial advisory business, today, July 20, 2022, announced the acquisition of Kalo, the restructuring, insolvency, and advisory firm with operations in the [British] Virgin Islands (VI), the Cayman Islands and Anguilla.

The acquisition will see interpath expanding its global footprint into the Virgin Islands (VI), Cayman Islands and Anguilla, which will now be combined with its existing offering in Barbados.

According to a July 20, 2022, release on the acquisition, Kalo- founded some 20 years ago- has a wealth of experience in restructuring, insolvency, stakeholder disputes, asset recovery and fraud investigations.

The firm has also acted on some of the largest fraud investigations in the VI and Cayman Islands over the past two decades and has achieved recoveries of billions of dollars for stakeholders.

“The acquisition will see Kalo Caribbean CEO Gordon MacRae, along with managing directors Charlotte Caulfield, Elizabeth Mackay, and Paul Pretlove, coupled with its team of more than 30 experienced professionals spanning two distinct offices, come on board to bolster the reach and strength of Interpath’s international advisory offering. Gordon MacRae and Paul Pretlove will continue to lead the Cayman and BVI offices respectively,” the release stated.

Interparth footprint extended

The acquisition also further expands Interpath Advisory’s international footprint into another important financial market, following news in Spring 2022 that it had made key senior hires in order to establish a new business in the Republic of Ireland.

Blair Nimmo, Chief Executive of Interpath Advisory, added, “The acquisition of Kalo is an important milestone as we continue to build upon our vision of becoming a truly global provider of restructuring and specialist advisory services, with the capability to deliver the largest and most complex assignments.”

He added that the VI and Cayman Islands are so often at the centre of international restructuring and insolvencies, so securing a significant foothold in these jurisdictions was always a key priority for the company.

Gordon MacRae, CEO of Kalo Caribbean, added: “We’re delighted to be joining Interpath at such an exciting time in its evolution. Not only does the firm have a stellar reputation for delivering exceptional service, consistently standing shoulder-to-shoulder with its clients, but we also know that the team is committed to building an inclusive culture where its talented people can thrive and develop fulfilling careers,” he said.

They need to get rid of that Pretlove. We don’t need people like him out here.

Paul Pretlove is an asset to the BVI, you clearly have no idea what you’re talking about.

Do you actually know him or are you just using him to say “get rid of the yt man”.

BVI is incapable of making any smart decisions because people are so insecure they put race/status before everything. From senior positions to road repairs and fixing sewage pipes, they’d rather have a friendly local in charge and terrible result than someone that can clearly get the job done to a high standard.
We don’t have standards here - just status and race insecurity which has/is held us back over and over again.
It’s embarrassing because of course it makes the BVI look simple-minded and incompetent - more than if we were smart enough to chose expertise and choose to learn from it.
But hey, a weak eg will do anything to prop itself up.
