BAUGHERS BAY, Tortola, VI- On the occasion of International Women’s Day being observed today, March 8, 2023, the Virgin Islands Party (VIP) has recognised the accomplishments of Kyra J. James, creator of the popular video blog 'Kickin’ it with Kyra'.

'Trailblazer'

In a social media post via its Facebook page, the Party said James’ digital production platform, where she posts positive videos about life in the Virgin Islands, has attracted thousands of followers and is committed to amplifying the voices of young Virgin Islanders who are often overlooked.

This, the Party noted has made her a true trailblazer and a source of inspiration for women everywhere.

The VIP urged that as Women's History Month is celebrated throughout the month of March, may we remember the countless other women who are also breaking barriers and making their mark in the world.

Let's work towards more Equity for women- VIP

“This Women's History Month, let's not only celebrate the achievements of women, but let's also work towards a more equitable and just society where women can thrive and reach their full potential. Together, we can continue to push for progress and inspire future generations of women to break barriers and shatter glass ceilings.

“Join us in celebrating Kyra James and all the other remarkable women within our community who are making a difference. Let's continue to uplift and support one another as we strive towards a brighter and more inclusive future for all”, the Party said.

James was also described as a champion for culture and creativity in the Virgin Islands.

VIP is gender inclusive- Kye M. Rymer

On March 7, 2023, on the VIP Let’s Talk show on ZBVI 780 AM, Deputy Premier Hon Kye M. Rymer (R5) reiterated that the Party is gender inclusive, as its President and Vice President are both women.

“Women are important to us on a whole…We celebrate them…Most definitely, us men, we should take that extra time to make sure we show our appreciation for the women in our lives and in the community as well… On behalf of the government, I salute all women…” Hon Rymer said.

Only about a month ago, the VIP elected Sharia B. de Castro as President and Zoe J. Walcott as its Vice President- a first in its 52 years as a political Party.

I am not a fan of the VIP but whether I get likes or not I must say that despite the criticism, it was blessings to have them in power during the worse pandemic in the last 100 years or most of us including those who wrongfully criticizing them and trying to get them out of office would have been dead or worse off if they were not the government in power but we done forget now that things seem to be getting back to normal. They did better to try to assist the people than most governments including the UK.

It’s not about being a fan, it’s about looking out for the people. The VIP is the only government that looks out for the people. The best option and still is.

Forget about who is not there but and to each his own but the VIP is the party for the people like it or not. No fans needed just deal with the truth.

AMEN AMEN AMEN AMEN, if people know what good for them they would know is to give the NEW VIP A CHANCE TO FINISH PROVE THEMSELVES. THEY NEVER GOT THE OPPORTUNITY TO SHOW THEIR FULL POTENTIALS.
      1. All the corrections from the past administration they had to deal with when they came into power
      2. Promises they had to fulfill that was promised by the past administration
      3. COVID 19, Reliefs, Stimulus, and Extensions
      4. Make sure that all ate, and was looked after during the lockdown (most of the times in an organized way)
      5. Stayed level headed during the COI
      6. Stayed level headed after the arrest of their leader (Coach)
      7. Critical and quick thinking when Steps were taken by Crown to take over and rule directly (though not seen by many as {A Life Saver}.
      8. Played their cards right to have us in a position where we can call elections
      9. Gave many their belongers as they were trying to clear the backlog created by the previous administration
      10. Sees everyone as humans, and fellow brethren, look for ways to help develop everyone.
      11. School complete , (to eradicate the grand spending of rent )
      12. Stepping in right directions to revamp the education system
      13. Build houses for many that were in need
      14. Assist many in education here and abroad
      15. Fixed many road, though their are still many more on their radar to be done
      16. Brought forth a market as promised (though many think it is to high but still want it to be upkept)
& the list goes on and on. Lets be real with ourselves and see what's is In front of us. Reality is important and having the facts are important to make a just and reasonable judgment which brings about good decisions and conclusions. Ignore the noise that is trying to deafen and blind you to detriment. Sometimes we close our eyes to what that is good for us, for what we think we need and like. Be wise BVI; VIP FOR ALL D Isle's ✔????

My family and I are strong NDP supporters and our son is in university and could not afford to stay and we could not afford to keep him in university. We swallowed our pride and went to the VIP Government for assistance. To our surprise the response was we have to help our people especially in the area of education. They gave us the assistance, so I am one on the list going around and I am proud of my son and thankful for the help they gave me knowing that I was a strong NDP supporter. I have to give them a few votes this time because they showed that our tax money was for everyone as much as it can stretch and not just for who supports them. This is a real story, and many more persons have this same story. The VIP is not as bad as some are intentionally trying to paint them. I wish them luck with this event and the elections.

The VIP is the only party that strives for balance among all classes and races in the BVI.

CSC used the VIP and then drop them like a hot Potatoe. This is the only failure I have of the VIP is that they try to help too many people whether they are with them or not who turn around to be ungrateful and bad minded. The VIP means well and has done more good than what bad some are only now trying to highlight during election season forgetting the mess they met from Iram and Maria that the last NDP government left and add to that Covid which no government knew what to do but the VIP did well and deserves a second chance.

I do not like everything the VIP did, but the fact of the matter is they came to power in 2019 during the roughest time in the history of the BVI. They did plenty good. Some only highlighting what they think is bad but the good out numbers that list by far. My family and I did not vote VIP the last time, but we will be voting VIP this time.

I am telling you, they came and did a lot, look at the 4th; you would swear that Rymer represents the 4th , more has been done to the 4th since he came in, he tried his best to beautify the place as he entered. The palm trees sometimes makes you think of little Miami, the flowers coming down the highway, the cross signs, the redirection of traffic is being experimented, sewage is still being smelt now and then, but not as before. The market uplifted, and many other in the the 4th. Just imagine when Lucie steps in what it will be, You nah hear BVI; VIP for all D Isles ✔????
