Injuring of prison officer by inmate being investigated- Guy M. Hill

BALSAM GHUT, Tortola, VI- The incident that resulted in a prison officer receiving a wound to his face by an inmate of Her Majesty's Prison (HMP) at Balsam Ghut, Tortola on August 25, 2022, is being investigated.

According to reports reaching our newsroom, the prisoner was being escorted when he struck the officer in the face with a sharp object. The weapon was reportedly subsequently retrieved following a search of the inmate.

The prison officer required treatment at Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital.

“That incident is being investigated, that is all I will comment,” Superintendent of Prisons Mr Guy M. Hill told our newsroom on August 27, 2022.

It is still unclear if the prisoner has since been charged by police.

I must give props to the jamaicians prisoners that have been behaving themselves and just doing there time with the hope of early release which i hope they get sometime soon in the coming future .

    We Need a British Army General up in the Prison 6’2” 300 lbs , Well trained and Good muscles and good understanding of prison terms to put this place in order , this is getting outta hand. Let’s spend tax payers money and get results.

    When the St Lucian was there you all complained. Why an expat had to lead the prison. When they put the current head you all lauded with praise. Now an incident occurred you all want to want him gone. WTH you all want? Some of you who complaining don't even have a job.

      @Sam stop blog foolishness Percival and Christophet is part of the problem up there , you have the west boy that should be on remand block with big flat screen tv big fridge in cell and record of theses item entering prison . Them two getting money under table and doing things out of fear.

    Guy need to let the prison guard rule the prison! Stop with his BS those Kittian boys are sub human menaces nothing left to offer in life death will be kind. All the punk need his a handcufffed beat down by those prison officers have him on a breathing tube for a few months problem solved.
