Industrial V/ball League: One Mart Yachting & SDA Family Matters remain unbeaten

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- One Mart Yachting and SDA Family Matters preserved their unbeaten record; however, RVIP Defenders suffered another loss when play in the 2023 Industrial Volleyball League organised by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports continued at Multi-Purpose Sports Complex on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.

One Mart Yachting was pushed to a third set by ESHS Rams but was still able to squeeze out the win to make it 5 victories from 5 games.

The first set was narrowly taken, 21-19 by One Mart Yachting; however, ESHS Rams bounced back to comfortably win the second set 21-16.

One Mart Provisioning, the only undefeated team in Group A, took the third and deciding set, 15-13.

SDA Family Matters vs RTW Blazers

SDA Family Matters then improved their record to 5 wins from as many games in Group B when they fought off a determined RTW Blazers in 3 sets.

RTW Blazers won the first set 21-19 but SDA Family Matters rallied to level matters by winning the second set 21-18.

Family Matters then came out victors in the third set 15-11. They and IML Suzuki Marines are the only unbeaten teams in Group B.

Game On wins thriller vs Harneys Hittas

In an exciting game in Group A, Game On forfeited a set due to showing up late for their game against Harneys Hittas but still prevailed, winning 0-21, 22-20, 20-18.

In other games, ATU Serve-vivors diffused BVIEC Shockers in straight sets, 21-14, 21-18.

BVIEC Shockers are badly missing the services of Danielle Selkridge.

One Mart Superstore made light work of Cash It, 21-6,21-12 in a Group B game and Republic Bank Blue Thunder defeated RVIP Defenders 21-14, 21-18.

RVIP Defenders, who were strong contenders in the 2022 league, are now without a win in 5 games.

Play continues this evening, Wednesday, October 25, 2023.
