ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The Department of Youth Affairs and Sports (DYAS) Industrial League Volleyball Tournament continued on Thursday, September 28, 2023, with wins for ESHS Rams, Family Matters, Suzuki Marines and One Mart Yachting.

In a Zone A Clash at Multi-Purpose Sports Complex, ESHS Rams handed RVIP Defenders their second straight loss.

In the first set, ESHS had to battle for the win against a steely RVIP Defenders but eventually won 22-20. The wheels; however, came off for the Defenders in the second set, as ESHS Rams prevailed 21-12.

In a more exciting Zone A encounter, One Mart Yachting were taken to a third set by a determined Harney’s Hittas.

One Mart convincingly took the first set 21-7, but Harney’s rallied back to take the second set 21-18.

Harney’s; however, appeared to have run out of hits in the deciding set as One Mart cruised to the win, 15-3.

Family Matters & Suzuki Marines win 2 on the trot

In Zone B play, Family Matters secured a second straight victory in the tournament when they faced Trident Block Party.

Family Matters squeezed to a 22-20 win in the first set and still found the going tough in the second set but were able to hold their nerves to win 21-19.

Also picking up their 2nd straight win were Suzuki Marines, who won 21-12, 21-17 against One Mart Superstore.

Play continues on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, with five games.
