ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Information reaching our newsroom is that an individual who was detained by Immigration officials has reportedly escaped custody.

According to reports, Wilkin Sanchez Tejeda was being held at a city hotel when he made his escape allegedly with the help of an unknown individual.

The incident allegedly occurred on July 3, 2021.

It is unclear the nationality of Tajeda and why he was being detained.

Reports are that the escape occurred when the security guard on watch left his post for a bathroom break.

It is said that the man, whose face was covered with a hoodie, then proceeded to break the lock to the apartment with a crowbar and freed Tajeda.

Police are said to be reviewing CCTV footage of the incident.

Immigration Department has not released a photo of the escaped individual to the public.

Vino ,Imigration, Police and the Government, ayo need to get you all act together with this kind of foolishness reporting about escapee's and not even putting up an image of the person. How you all expect to get help. That same person could be catching a ride with your family. Learn from USA and other countries and put out photo's so that the public can be aware.

I remember those days when immigration detainees use to be taken by the police station until they are ready to be put back on the flight. They might want to revisit this method since it's not working out.

As of the last ease of restrictions local white people of the usvi been coming to bvi with fake immunization cards and bouncing around island to island in the bvi with a negative agenda of spreading covid. Also in sopers west end yachts been seen coming over from stjohn illegally .they anchor at the closest point during the day and sneak over at nights to escape all the fees rules and regulations this been circulating 3 weeks now.

Good day to all. Just for the record. A picture would have been nice. I opened this article in hopes of a picture being displayed, but no. Now as a member of the community, I am not able to identify this person. Like Who are we looking for. I probably saw them shopping at Bobby`s two days ago. Just saying. I would do a hell of a good job locating this person. Only if I knew who it was. love ya still!!!
