BAUGHERS BAY, Tortola, VI- General elections might be two years away, but the campaigning seems to have started early, including by Opposition Leader Hon Myron V. Walwyn, who has been buying up much airtime to criticise the current government and trying to portray himself as Premier material.

And now Mr Aaron F. Parillon has declared he will be contesting the general elections for the third time.

Mr Parillon, a former schoolteacher, contested the Third District seat unsuccessfully in 2015 and 2023 under the National Democratic Party (NDP) banner and will likely run again under the NDP.

Appearing on NDP Radio on May 19, 2025, Mr Parillon was introduced by the host, Bishop John I. Cline, as one of the candidates who will be contesting the next elections in 2027.

“Welcome soon-to-be Honourable Aaron Parillon. Yes, we are going to make sure you get to the House of Assembly this time around. So, we want to put the people in the Third District on notice that you are coming and you are coming strong. That young energy that you bring, that futuristic vision that you have, all of it is going to be balled up into one,” Bishop Cline stated.

‘Your champion is here’

Mr Parillon, sitting alongside Honourable Marlon A. Penn (R8) and Honourable Ronnie W. Skelton (AL), confirmed his intentions.

“People of the Third District, your champion is here. As John eloquently said, I will be, I don’t have to hide or say anything, when you ask me, I say it profoundly that I will be contesting the next general elections, because I truly believe in being the next elected representative of the Third District, bringing something fresh and something very energetic to the community.

The Third District has been represented by Hon Julian Fraser RA, the current Deputy Premier and Minister for the Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change, since 1999.

The sad truth is we take out rotten sets and replace with rotten set. At the beginning of everyone political life or political bid, they come as knight in shining armor. They get elected and turn into nightmare. Sometimes its best to stay on the outside and keep doing what you do for the people because inside HOA don't seem to be a clean place. Ayo get corrupt and arrogant real quick in there.

I agree with this comment. To Mr. Aaron, you do so much for the community in your current position. I do not believe that being a member of HOA will give you the footing/funding/power you think you will get upon being successfully elected. Government is extremely restrictive. Honestly you should just continue doing what you can, in the way you want, on your own timeline and by your own rules. However, I commend you for still having an interest in running again and wish you nothing but the best of luck.

the Order in Council will be removed for a 2027 election. The OinC should take effect later this year when the HOA is dissolved. It's extreme but the last resort remedy to extinguish corruption in the BVI.

Your time just didn't reach yet.
Ppl tlking smack about Fraser being hard to beat, that's what they also said about Omar Hodge in the 6th. The numbers are showing you what's up, you're edging closer as each election passes, it means your base is growing, maybe slow, but growing

@ Go Siddung. More than 20 years ago, this D3 representative was younger and had done nothing. Now he is old, and all of a sudden he has experience, wit, and knows how to lead? All he ever cared about was the horsetrack and rubbing shoulders with other higher-ups, and enjoying all of the perks that went with being one of the BIG BOYS. They were the BAD BOYS running these islands, and that is why they lost to the NDP. His mustache was drooping down low, and he was in shock. Now he has arisen again with so much knowledge? Please, how soon do we forget? Allow new young blood into the fighting ring, and maybe, just maybe, we will have a winner.

Not my choice for D3. We need someone who is capable of driving the BVI forward with all the complex situations we are now facing. Aaron's capabilities do not go further than assisting the persons in D3, basically community service. He is not and will never be someone who can perform on the global scale.

Politics is no longer a Village representative, it requires persons qualified in all aspects of business/

Yet you voted for 24 years of stagnation. Aaron is a solid and well soiled man of this country. This man has done more for his community than Fraser has ever done.

List 3 things Fraser has done for this country globally?

      I’ll wait………….

Jedi - the force has diminished within you! You have aligned yourself with two self-serving, entitled and shifty career politicians whom will use you and relegate you to the back burner (e.g. Karl & Luce).

If you want any chance of realizing your goal of becoming the D3 rep; get out from under ronnie and marlon thumb!
