BAUGHERS BAY, Tortola, VI- Opposition and Alliance member Hon Stacy R. Mather (AL) has said he has questions for every member on the government’s side of the House of Assembly (HoA), during the next sitting.

Speaking on The Pulse of the People, hosted by The Alliance, on Monday, June 23, 2025, Hon Mather said the questions are already on the Order Paper for the Sitting which has already begun.

The HoA will convene a special sitting on July, 1, 2025, in honour of the late former legislator Eileene L. Parsons, OBE, who passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025, following which the House will resume the Fifth Sitting of the Second Session of the Fifth House of Assembly on Thursday, July 3, 2025.

Questions for the Premier to the Minister of Education

“ I have questions on the Order Paper for all the ministers from the Premier down to the Minister of Education in that order,” Hon Mather said.

The questions seek to get information about public funds; the $100 million loan and what has been paid on it to date; the Virgin Gorda Clinic, Sea Cows Bay road, education and more.

“So just digging into matters that would give the public some answers. There are some questions for farmers, for fishermen.”

Public should tune in to next HoA Sitting

The former Deputy Speaker of the House said he looks forward to asking his questions as well as any follow-up questions arising from answers given.

Hon Mather encouraged members of the public to tune in to the next sitting of the House of Assembly so they can be better informed about what is happening in the Territory.

@ Fredom Fighter - he has done more in his short time there than the career politicians that have been there for decades! Also, those wannabe politicians who can’t seem to get out the starting gate. Nuff said. Bet you don’t run in D3 again though lol…

Do these guys have a plan other than to get power by being a Government Minister? We keep hearing about no-confidence motions but do we have confidence in the Opposition? What are their plans? Just to unseat Hon. Wheatley and VIP? Constantly stating the obvious, i.e. we have issues with water, roads, schools etc. does not help anybody. What is your plan? Give us some real vision/plans for our Territory. I am sorry but these 3 guys have not convinced me that they have anything different to offer than what the current ones are doing.

My observation is that they ALL cost the same price.Since the time they were elected to office they have not done one single thing for the people out of the bunch of promises that they made during the campaigns. That have ALL failed the people of the country. I suppose they will get serious closer to the reelection time and do what was supposed to be done in order to get a vote. That’s the way they do it all the time.
