BAUGHERS BAY, Tortola, VI - Political aspirant, former Speaker of the House of Assembly, and businessman, Mr Julian Willock, has confirmed his intention to contest the upcoming general elections in the Virgin Islands.

During an appearance on Talking Points on Monday, June 22, 2026, on ZBVI 780 AM, Mr Willock stated, “If everything stays on track, I will be on the ballot for the 2027 general elections in the Virgin Islands.”

The former Permanent Secretary has mentioned in previous interviews that he will not run against the Third District Representative and Deputy Premier, Honourable Julian Fraser, RA. While Hon Fraser has not officially confirmed whether he will be running, Mr Willock asserted that he will be the candidate in the next general elections.

Willock emphasised he will not run against Hon Fraser

“What I will say, and I've said it a million times, that I will not run against Honourable Fraser; however, I am running in this upcoming general election,” he said.

Mr Willock expressed his desire to serve the people of District Three, stating, “I come to the people of District Three with much humility to be a servant leader. I've said to many at their homes, if I've said or done anything that has offended anyone, I come to the table with a pure heart asking for forgiveness, and my only job is love for people, hence love for country.”

The former Speaker emphasised, “I don't know how much time I can say that I will be a candidate for the upcoming general election. It has to be held at least by June or July 2027. I will be a candidate.”

Mr Willock has also outlined a five-year plan for District Three, which includes the revitalisation of Ellis Thomas Downs, addressing the water situation, and paying attention to secondary roads, among other initiatives for the community.

Out of rajah and Aaron, Willock is the most qualified but the VIP is unpopular so it’s an uphill race

District 3 will be in good hands with either Fraser or Willock!!! Aaron just not ready. I am sorry. I like him but he is not ready to represent the people at that level. Aaron community projects are helpful, but representation is far more than cooking soup, frying fish, posting happy birthday and running errands for people. Electing him would be the worst thing the people of district 3 could do. The district needs someone more competent and well-rounded like Willock but he needs to just tone down his arr*****e.
