Hungarian parliament blocks withdrawal from ICC
BUDAPEST, Hungary- Hungary's parliament has voted by a large majority to suspend the country's withdrawal from the International Criminal Court (ICC).
The national conservative former Prime Minister Viktor Orbán initiated Hungary's withdrawal from the ICC last year.
However, the country's newly appointed Prime Minister, Péter Magyar, has announced that his government wants to reverse that decision.
Hungary did not arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu when he visited Hungary last April. Instead, he received a warm welcome from Orbán.
Netanyahu is wanted by the ICC, accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
