Huggins reaches 60m final @ Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational

LINCOLN, Nebraska, USA- Three Virgin Islands college athletes competed at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational Indoor Track and Field Meet held at the Bob Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln, Nebraska from February 2-3, 2018.

Sophomore Nelda Huggins, of Iowa Central, led the VI charge by running a qualifying time of 7.47 in the preliminary round of the Women’s 60m dash on Friday, February 2, 2018.

Returning to the track the following day for the final, Huggins clocked 7.50 for 5th. The race was won by Lake Kwaza in a time of 7.39.

Barton County Freshman and Virgin Islander Adriano Gumbs recorded a time of 1:21.50 in the 600m dash to earn a 7th place finish.

Moujtaba Mohammed, a Senior from Nebraska, won in 1:17.76.

And Akeem Bradshaw, a Freshman from Iowa Central, made a jump of 6.17m in the long jump and 14.28 in the Triple Jump.
