Housekeeper
The Housekeeper Performs routine duties in cleaning and servicing of guest rooms baths and public areas under supervision of housekeeping supervisor. Room attendant promotes a positive image of the property to guests and must be pleasant, honest, and friendly and should also be able to address guest requests and problems.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and non- verbal communication skills.
- Have a minimum of 1 year of experience in a housekeeping position.
- Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other employees.
- Availability to work in shifts as needed.
- Good physical condition to walk and stand during an entire shift.
- Be thorough and pay attention to detail
- Be flexible and open to change
- Be honest and trustworthy whilst always holding the guest’s discretion in the highest regards.
- Enjoy working with people and possess a friendly and outgoing personality.
Physical Requirement:
- Frequent walking with some standing at times.
- Frequently lifts/carries up to 25 lbs.
- Occasionally lifts/carries up to 50 lbs.
- Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bimanual dexterity and fine motor skills.
- Able to reach hands and arms in any direction and kneel and stoop repeatedly.
Duties:
- Enters and prepares the room for cleaning.
- Makes bed.
- Dusts the room and furniture.
- Replenishes guestroom and bath supplies.
- Cleans the bathroom.
- Cleans the closet.
- Vacuums and racks the carpet.
- Checks and secures the rooms.
- Replenish amenities according to the operational standards.
- Ensures that guest preferences are met all the time.
- Deliver and retrieve items on loan to guests e.g., iron and ironing boards.
- Ensure security of guest rooms and privacy of guests.
- Perform rotation cleaning duties (e.g., steam clean carpets, spring cleaning, super cleaning etc.) as required.
- Cleans guest bathroom/bedroom/floor corridor.
- Responsible for replenishment of guest complimentary water.
- Responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of his work area.
- Responsible for the Hotel property in the work area.
- Reports maintenance issues to HK Supervisor.
- Attends to guest calls, guest requests /guest complaints in the area assigned to him/ her.
- Authorise to enter in guestrooms for cleaning and providing turndown services as per requirement.
- Responsible for following the standard operating procedures.
- Responsible for achieving and exceeding the guest satisfaction score.
- Any other duties assigned by the manager or supervisor.
