SEA COWS BAY, Tortola VI - This Sunday, March 3, 2019, all roads will lead to Ellis Thomas Downs in Sea Cows Bay as horse racing resumes following a heated 2019 elections and political season in the Virgin Islands (VI).

The races are in honour of late Chief Minister H. Lavity Stoutt whose Virgin Islands Party (VIP) crushed the National Democratic Party 1 (NDP1) at the polls on February 25, 2019, and the people have clearly spoken, it time for some downtime.

5 races big money

According to organizers, there will be tents for the seniors incase of rain or other elements. Horse racing returned to the Territory on Boxing Day 2018, almost two years after Hurricanes Irma and Maria destroyed the racing facility, killed horses and the former NDP 1 government neglected to repair all sporting facilities.

The return of races was spearheaded by Lesmore Smith the President of the BVI Horse Owners Association, himself a candidate of the Progressive Virgin Islands Movement (PVIM) aka 'NDP2'.

The new Minister responsible for the race track is Dr the Honourable Natalio D. Wheatley (R7) aka 'Showande Uhuru'.
