Hon Walwyn’s Motion of No Confidence crushed in HoA

In fact, at the start of the Continuation of the Seventh Sitting of the Second Session of the Fifth House of Assembly today, July 31, 2025, only two Opposition Members showed up: Hon Walwyn and former Opposition Leader Hon Ronnie W. Skelton (AL).
When it was time to debate, however, even a pin falling to the floor could have been heard, and no one indicated a willingness to debate.
“Members, we will not tarry on this matter…” Deputy Speaker Dr the Hon Karl Dawson (R1) stated after repeatedly calling on Members to debate the Motion.
Hon Walwyn was about to "wrap up" the debate, indicating with a broad smile that “the time that the Members didn’t want to speak, I will use that time myself to speak".
The veteran politician and Deputy Premier, Hon Julian Fraser RA (R3), using Standing Orders 36, as it relates to replying to Motions, said there was no need for Hon Walwyn to make a response since no one had replied when the floor was open for debate.
The Deputy Speaker subsequently agreed with the Member for the Third District and closed the debate.
After the Deputy Speaker called for a vote on the Motion, Hon Walwyn requested a division of votes.
Hon Walwyn & Motion crushed
All members of the government voted strongly against the one-man motion.
Hon Walwyn was only able to receive the support of fellow Opposition Member Honourable Melvin M. Turnbull (R2), who showed up late.
Fellow Alliance member Hon Stacy R. Mather (AL) was absent.
A crushing blow to the Leader of the Opposition was the abstention of the former Leader of the Opposition, and it is also believed that Hon Marlon A. Penn (R8) may have also abstained.
The Opposition remains divided after Hon Walwyn led a coup to overthrow the then Opposition Leader Hon Ronnie W. Skelton, and is now coming with his own party- The Alliance.
Hon Walwyn, in his motion, accused the government of not doing anything for the economy and its infrastructure, and also slammed the government for a $20M overspending on an increase in salaries for politicians and public officers.
We will bring more details on this crushing defeat for Hon Walwyn.

Myron is not the real leader of the opposition
Myron is not a politician he talks good but lack strategy
Who is he leading then?
Myron does lack the strategic method to his rhetorical madness. That may be his downfall.
