Hon Walwyn branded as 'Lucifer' for bringing 'demonic instrument' to HoA

- Hon Vincent O. Wheatley said Lucifer found fault with the most perfect place- Heaven
Hon Myron V. Walwyn (R6), Leader of His Majesty’s Loyal Opposition, has been dramatically compared to the fallen angel Lucifer by Hon Vincent O. Wheatley (R9), Minister for Health and Social Development following the failed vote of no confidence during the Continuation of the Seventh Sitting of the Second Session of the Fifth House of Assembly (HoA), yesterday, July 31, 2025. ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Hon Myron V. Walwyn (R6), Leader of His Majesty’s Loyal Opposition, has been dramatically compared to the fallen angel Lucifer by Hon Vincent O. Wheatley (R9), Minister for Health and Social Development.

This all happened following the failed Vote of No Confidence during the Continuation of the Seventh Sitting of the Second Session of the Fifth House of Assembly (HoA), yesterday, July 31, 2025.

Myron faced a 7 to 2 defeat

Members of the Opposition have been trying to bring a vote of no confidence against Premier and Minister of Finance Dr the Hon Natalio D. Wheatley (R7) and his Virgin Islands Party (VIP) government since 2024, first through former Opposition Leader Hon Ronnie W. Skelton (AL).

When finally brought before the House, Hon Walwyn was only able to secure one other vote, while the seven members on the government’s side voted against the motion. Deputy Speaker, Hon Dr Karl Dawson (R1), would have been the government's eighth vote but was unable to vote as he was presiding over the HoA in the absence of Speaker Mrs Corine N. George-Massicote.

'It's a demonic instrument'

According to Hon Wheatley, through research, he was able to find that the concept of a vote of no confidence came from Heaven.

“The first vote of no confidence recorded by the Bible was when Satan thought he could do better than God; he brought a vote of no confidence into Heaven.”

Satan, he said, did not like the way God ran Heaven and found fault with the most perfect place.

“He was made different to the other angels, but the arrogance of Lucifer…to think he could do a better job in the most perfect place, Heaven…that’s where it started, it’s a demonic instrument. So anyhow, we have these things where people feel they could do a better job than other people.”

Deja vu in the House

Hon Wheatley also compared the vote of no confidence brought against the then ruling National Democratic Party (NDP) government by now Deputy Premier Hon Julian Fraser, RA (R3).

“Strangely enough, it had the same numbers as of today, 7 to 2…the same people who telling you now they can do a better job…you know what they said then, they saw no need for a vote of no confidence, I agree with them because it is true today too.”

Hon Wheatley further condemned the Opposition Leader, saying now is the time for unity and showing strength and togetherness as the Order in Council still hangs over the Virgin Islands (VI).

“You want to come create confusion in the minds of the people. We should be uniting now in solidarity, not here trying to pick off each other.”

Commendations for Premier Wheatley

The Health and Social Development Minister reiterated his support for Premier Wheatley, commending him for navigating the VI through challenging times.

“We are going through one of the most challenging times. Our democracy was threatened to remove our constitution…he navigated us through one of the most challenging times in our history, that’s why we could sit here today. If he didn’t do what he did then, there would be no House, the Governor would have all the power...”

Now, Hon Wheatley said, is not the time for division and divisiveness.

Myron, if I was you I would get out of politics let them take the country to the dregs that they are taking it. Myron you love the country and you put it before you, you are passionate about it that's why you care, the country is looking like a stagnant dirty water and they cannot see it because they only love themselves, it's the worse I've ever seen the country and everyone love it, maybe we are pigs so let us waller in the mud. I admire your passion but leave the country alone let it go down and don't let the devil take you down, I will stop here,.

It's a sad day in the BVI when we decide to call people names for doing their jobs. Those who really know their bibles know that Lucifer wanted to take Jesus place because of pride so heaven's perfection was not his issue.
Hon. Myron pointed out the things that are wrong with the government and he didn't tell one lie.
So the premier is not Lucifer for constantly telling lies because the devil is the father of lies. Neither is he Lucifer for paying for a convicted criminal to come here. Is the premier even like Lucifer for his partying lifestyle ?
You all like to label people over nonsense.
Mr. Myron is hated for doing his job and the premier and his ministers are equally hated for not doing their jobs. The BVI is in a terrible place and the only thing this minister can do is try to belittle a working minister. This screams that the government really needs help.

Something is wrong with these people ...because Myron speak out about the foolishness you all doing.......we need people who would speak up for us....many people are suffering in this country and all you can talk about is lucifer. Hon. Walwyn don't mind the noise in my opinion they are all lucifers.

In my opinion Myron Walwyn will do a much better job than Showande. The only thing I think Myron did wrong was initiating the separation from the opposition. If the opposition was together that vote of No Confidence stood a better chance. Showande need to go by any means necessary. Happy Festival to my fellow Vurgin Islanders if you can.

Calling names is very childish and immature; even alluding to referring a member to such is very disheartening to witness. No shame whatsoever by these government ministers. Myron hit them with facts, Mitch did the same and Mather drove home his own points as well.

I think Wheatley went a bit far there with that comparison. I also wonder if Myron now feels that he is to blame as Skelton was to blame for the failed vote before. Politics has strayed a long way from what it should be. Myron should give the same respect that he expects to receive when he finally gets his chance to lead. Going to the governor and disrespecting local leadership over the bank issue before it is time to involve others, is a disrespect to what we have worked for. He skews his arguments as any lawyer would but let's be real about things please.

It is very disheartening to see the level that some politicians in the BVI has stooped to. It is apparent that the Premier and his entire cabinet do not have any conscience nor do they care about the people of this country. Here it is that the leader of the Opposition is being branded as Lucifer for pointing out the problems that have existed in this country from year to year without fixing; yet millions and millions are spent and millions are even unaccounted for. It is easy to conclude that this government sees nothing wrong with their way of governance that they would now resort to associate evil names with others who want to improve on the quality of life for the citizens of this country. This defensive behavior is troubling to say the least and begs the question as to who indeed is really Lucifer. It’s like the pot bottom calling the kettle own black.

Broken leaders, broken systems, broken island, these politicians care nothing for anyone but themselves, where’s the $5 million dollars? Why are the roads in a state why can’t we have proper running water, yet if you drive the Dimond Eastate road gallons of water pumping out onto the street every night. They want independence from who to benefit who? And the best response is to bring back a drug dealer to run the country. We better off under the leadership of a drug dealer is that what you telling us.

Leave it so the people have spoke they don’t want any of you running the bvi you all have failed us. You all only working to get back in, you all have done nothing to benefit us the people. HOA is a joke a total waste of time, you all are a laughing stock, you don’t even see how ridiculous you all sounds for grown men.

Governor we are asking kindly, please please help us the UK needs to run this place before it reaches the point of no return, these greed good for nothing, jumping from one side to the next then back again politicians are fattening themselves and leaving the average person to suffer. We are living in a modern day slavery. Who and what can you do with $7:25 why you political don’t work for the same $7:25 let’s see where that gets you. Sickening bunch the whole lot of you.

UK we the people of the BVI are ready for your rule for the next 10 year to clean up this place before it get worse.
